How to Play Pai Gow Poker

This game is a combination of the Chinese game of Pai Gow and Poker and is played with a 52 card deck. The player is dealt a hand of seven cards and has to split them into the best five-card hand and the best two-card hand that he can make. The five-card hand must rank higher than the two-card hand, otherwise he has a “foul” hand and must re-select his choice of hands. The game is played between players and the dealer. The player bets his hands to beat those of the dealer. In order for the player to win, both of his hands must be better than the dealer’s. If the player wins one hand and the dealer wins one, this is a push, and the player’s money is returned. Due to a high percentage of pushes, this is a great game which allows one to have a good time while spending very little money!
